At only 1050m Engelberg is low, but dont let this put you off. Much of the best skiing is above 1800m, and the area has a justified reputation for powder. The best snow is usually on the high, north-facing slopes of Jochpass and Titlis (where there is a glacier) and conditions here can be great well into spring. Snow cover and quality is more variable on the lower slopes, particularly on Brunni, which is more exposed to the sun. ...

Dienten is a small, traditional Austrian farming village in the middle of the Hochkonig ski area. In the past few years there has been a big investment in the area's ski infrastructure, with lots of new lifts now linking Dienten to the surrounding villages. Despite being only an hour from Salzburg, it is still relatively unheard of and prices have been kept low. ...

The ski infrastructure of Ischgl is simply great. The slopes are wide and provide at times scenic views. Ischgl is very attractive for the semi-advanced skier and those who like to party. Off-slope and free-nature skiing is fairly limited. Due to its popularity Ischgl can be very crowded in high-season. ...
