Just back from a week of skiing in Les Deux Alps. The skiing was great, one heavy snow fall early on set us up for a fantastic weeks skiing. The lift system is very good with virtually no queues and the pistes were well prepared and generally not crowded. The main gripe is that piste classification system is very poor, with a marked tendency to understate difficulty. This is not a beginners resort, with the seeming large numbers of blues being very misleading; most would be red elsewhere. The only runs down to the village are either a long, icy and narrow green piste, which was positively dangerous at the end of the day due to overcrowding and the sheer *** off the side, or an excellent blac

Just got back from a week in Les Deux Alps (26/1/08) with ten mates. The resort was fantastic, skiing was great, snow conditions couldn't have been better even with the warm weather. The lift system was fast and efficient with minimal queues. Stayed at Les Cret in the town centre with Skiworld. The location was perfect, hotel basic but clean, the food was a bit of a surprise, great food, the staff and the manager were also great. Would recommend. An absolute must is the day away trip to Serre Chevalier an amazing resort with fantastic skiing, only 30 euros for the coach which picked us up outside Le Cret, with skiing covered on the Deux Alps pass. Six nights out in the town until between 2 -

I went to Les Deux Alpes for the first time this Easter (1st week April 2007) The resort is great, everything you could possibly want is there. The nightlife is great, and most of the bar staff speak English. I have looked at other peoples reviews and there seems to be a lot of criticism that the resort is not geared up for beginners, but I would strongly disagree. The valley walls are quite steep, hence 2 blacks the only skiable way down, except for a green zig zag run which was not open when we were there; simply not enough snow cover right at the bottom. But if you take the gondola to the first plateau there is ample skiing for skiers/borders of all levels. This is where all the ski schoo

I have been ski-ing at this resort for more than 10 years, after many previous years of trying out other countries. As a family of varying ages, there is something here for us all, whether beginners, skiers or boarders. The atmosphere is great although it becomes less desirable during peak "french school holiday" periods when it is very busy and crowded. I am lucky to have my own accommodation but there are a lot of english owners now and rather than booking cheap apartments via agencies, you should check out the "owners direct" website and you will find quality accommodation which will make your holiday much better. The snow is guaranteed due to the high altitude, and th
