Breuil Cervinia reviews

1st ever ski holiday and thought Cervinia was superb. Although the last week of the season, staff at the Petit Palais (crystal club hotel) were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and all were really friendly and helpful. The slopes are excellent for beginners ad intermediates -with plenty of long easy runs to build up skills, although not many black runs for those who are more advanced. The weather can be unpredictable with being so high up (sunburn on the 1st day followed by massive snow storm 2 days later!). Even at the end of the season the apres ski was still pretty good, although bars and clubs don\'t get busy until really late into the night. would highly recommend it for famili

Snow is guaranteed, but the height of the resort means cloud, extreme cold, wind and low visibility are frequent visitors. Fresh snow can get hard and icy pretty quickly in the winter months, so you have to enjoy it while it's there, but it will stick around forever. The high altitude means that the resort (Cervinia - Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche) generally stays open until early May, and the spring skiing can be fantastic, with less cloud and wind than the winter months, and warmer too. There are a few good bars in the resort, and a reasonable club, but not the liveliest resort ever.

The town is dead, it's UGLY.. it ain't got no alibi. The village is set at 2000m with lots of different lifts at different parts of the village taking you up to 2500m where most of the runs start. The from Plan Maison / Plan Tourette you can go to 2700mt or 3000mt which leads to even more runs or even over to Zermatt (but make sure you buy the international pass which costs about 240 euros and your passport). The slopes are always well groomed, the lifts, chairs, personell are very good. The sun seems to shine when I'm there, the views are great, the food tastes preety good as long as you like italian food! no international cuisine. For all it's faults, I really like the slopes in Cervinia.

The skiing was fabulous - plenty of snow and lots of well-groomed pistes - very good for the intermediate skier, but not many black runs for the more advanced. It was well worth paying for the area pass as there were some great slopes on the Swiss side and there were some excellent restaurants on the run down to Zermatt. The bus around the town was also free on this pass and also connected up to a free train which takes you up the glacier to Gornergrat. The food was pricey on the slopes, but this was mainly due to a very weak pound when we were there. We had a good meal in the Copa Pan - lovely restaurant downstairs from the bar, and the best hot chocolate ever in La Grotta by the chair lift

Cervinia is great for families. The Italian ski school is very good. If your child improves he/she will be moved to the next level during the same week. great off piste, good snow due to altitude. not very difficult runs but very wide. For intermediates this is really joyful terrain with incredibly long trails falling away below you across the huge white landscape. Don't have to wait long for the lifts even on school holidays. Went twice and would go again.
