Just returned from a short break in Val Thorens (April 5th - 9th). This really is a resort of that has two sides to it. On the one hand you have some of the most varied and fantastic terrain I have ever seen. The Three Valleys area is immense and the on and off piste possibilities seem to be endless. In a nutshell I don't think I’ve enjoyed skiing/boarding quite as much as this, although this was helped by low numbers on the pistes, nonexistent lift queues (down to the time of year no doubt) and a very efficient lift system.
