Kirchberg offers you the same skiing possibilities as Kitzbuhel thanks to the expansive lift system, with opportunities for everyone to ski all the way back to the village via blue runs 25,26. There is also a good regular bus system which connects with Kitzbuhel one way, and Aschau the other. Not only does this allow for several starting points heading up to the Pengelstein and Hannenkahm areas, but also offers the opportunity to head up the opposite side of the valley into the vast SkiWelt area (Soll etc)... But note you need to purchase a separate lift pass for this area.
As typical with most Austrian resorts there is traditional charm in abundance, lovely hotels and pensions, and everyt

We have visited the lovely town of Kirchberg in Tyrol for 4 years now. It is a great resort for young people who love both the skiing and apres-ski. The slopes in the Kitzbuhel/Kirchberg to Pass Thurn ski area are mainly reds. There are some challenging black slopes at the Zweithousender. All over the mountains there are cosy mountain restaurants. Don\'t go to the ones near the lifts or ski school starting points! The apres ski is one of the best in the Alps. There are many bars and restaurants along the slopes towards the village where you can have a great time at the end of the day. Schneebar Oberkaser is one of my favourites. Also, in Kirchberg itself there are some famous apres ski bars

First of all I have to say I LOVE Kirchberg, but it might be good to highlight some of it\'s downsides. The biggest problem is that the Kirchberg-Kizbuhel-Pass Thurn skiarea does not provide many challenging slopes. The majority of the slopes are easy reds. Furthermore, you might end up with the feeling that you spend most of the time in the lifts. The lifts are a bit slow compared to other resorts like Ischgl or Sankt Anton. Because Kirchberg is popular with locals and short-stay tourists (germans) it can be very crowded sometimes. Lift-lines tend to be very long at the end of the day.
The piste maintenance could be better; especially during day-time on the slopes towards the valley.

We have visited Kirchberg for the last 12 years and seen it grow from a small skiresort to what it is today: still a small skiresort BUT with a huge skiarena and the best apres ski in Tyrol! It hase something to offer for everyone: beginners, intermediates, advanced, hikers and party animals.
Kirchberg is still a typical Tyrolean resort. It is not like it\'s neighbour Kitzbuhel, but that is positive I guess. It is worth menrioning that since a few years you can ski all the way to Westendorf at one end, and Mittersil at the other end. In between over 180km of scenic slopes.
