Good selection of pistes at the 3 major stations of Brevent-Flegere, Le Tour/Balme and Les Grands Montets. The terrain is great for off piste riders, but a lot of routes from the top of Grands Montets and Aiguille du Midi require a guide. Les Houches has the best snow park. The Mont Blanc Unlimited Pass currently includes Curmayeur, Italy (free bus each ady) and Verbier, Swizerland (Bus 22 euros rtn runs each Thursday). Chamonix offers every level of slopes, restaurants, shopping, history and amazing views. Don\'t miss the after ski crowd at Elevation bar, or the Terrasse. Stayed in a wonderful family owned hotel- Oustalet- a 5 min. walk to the centre. I took the small train over the Alps from Martigny Swittzerland. Beautiful old world experience. I am an extreme skier, and loved the vast opportunities of technical skiing, and the international crowd. Chamonix will be home for years.

If you're looking for great nights out and plenty of places to eat than you will love it. If you want to ski then go elsewhere. No ski areas are linked and you spend most of the day doing the same runs. People say the off-piste at Chamonix is The Best Ever but I do not agree. Try the 3 valleys.
