For both experienced or less experienced skiers, Tignes has skiing for everyone. Walk out your door and immediately you
e on the slopes! Few queues at the lifts can handle large capa. A beautiful and very extensive ski area - miss the trees at this atltitude though! Blue runs are pretty spread out in area so that children and beginners can also get around the ski area and explore. It is a typical French ski resort with high-rise concrete blocks, but the center is pleasant with nice shops, cafes and restaurants.

A combination of enviable snow cover, a variety of impressive terrain and a season that lasts most of the year makes Tignes one of the most dependable winter destinations in France. Tignes slopes are almost all above the treeline, which means visibility is non-existent when the clouds come down.

The resort has everything for the intermediate skier. Great variety of runs and plenty of them - enough to run the legs out every day. Overall, the lift system at Tignes and Val dIsere is slowly getting upgraded - the aeroski gondola is now called Toviere and holds more people per car and even has seats !!! Still a few week points /bottlenecks in the lift system, particularly if you are staying in Tignes 1800 / Breviere as you come up to Le Lac in the morning. But overall, tremendous and vast areas of piste and accessible off piste. Which makes this place one of the top resorts in the world

Tignes is about the best Alpine bet. It has good snow guaranteed untill May. Tignes is one of the best areas in the world for lift-served off-piste runs. There is a huge amount of varied terrain, with swift access to Val dIsere

Tignes is undoubtably the best linked ski area in Europe. You can ski or board all day from lift to lift without stopping, and cover a lot of miles without queues. Some great circuits to follow: Le Fornet or the glacier and lunch in les Breviers. High altitude means you can always find powder throughout the season. Suits more advanced skiers but there is plenty of motorway skiing for the novice above Marmottes bar and up on the Grand pre. Some friendly bars around Le Lac and some lively nightlife if you want it....Thumbs up to Tignes...
