2Alps is a large ski resort with its own glacier offering year-round skiing. For snowboarders, it also has an impressive board park that gets moved to the glacier in the summer. Although the vast ski area gets frequent dumps of snow through the winter, the lack of trees on the mountain and the sometimes gale-force winds usually blow the fresh stuff away. The two main gondolas usually get closed while this happens too) If you do manage to get good conditions though, head up to the glacier and have an explore round the un-pisted, un avalanche controlled ‘La Grave’ (take a guide). What 2Alp lacks in conditions, it makes up for in resort night life. ‘Smokey Joes’ bar (located right near to the main Jandris lift in the centre of town) offers great apres ski as does ‘The Red Frog’ located at the top end of town. For a meal that is, quite frankly, out of this world head to the ‘Celliere’ (just round the corner from the Red Frog) but book up in advance.

Les Deux Alpes is one of the more major southerly ski areas in the French Alps. As well as a world-class ski area and a lively resort base, a Les Deux Alpes holiday gives you a bigger than usual choice of off-slope activities and extensive shopping and nightlife.

This resort always has good snow fall, the snowpark is outstanding (particularly in the summer) and the slopes are perfect for all levels. On top of that the town itslef has a great atmosphere. The locals/staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There are an endless amount of places to eat, be they beautiful restaurants or cheap take-aways. Finally, the nightlife is fantastic. Go to Secrets bar or the Polar Bear and you can fail to have a great time.

I can say that Les 2 Alpes is the best of all resorts out there. The resort always has good snow fall, the snowpark is outstanding (particularly in the summer) and the slopes are perfect for all levels. On top of that the town itslef has a great atmosphere. The locals/staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There are an endless amount of places to eat, be they beautiful restaurants or cheap take-aways. Finally, the nightlife is fantastic. We had great skiing conditions during the second half of march. Plenty of slopes to keep us entertained for the week and there were no big queues at any of the lifts, not even at the weekends. Some very good blues and reds to contend with from the glacier all the way down to Les Cretes. After that to get to the resort you have to take a black or a long and boring narrow green. The only down side to 2 Alpes is that all the greens are very narrow and can get quite busy at the end of the day.
Was quite pricey to eat and drink on the slopes. All in all, a great resort and worth checking it out. We would go again without doubt.
